The main activity of Didart project is the realization of a traveling and education-oriented event/exhibition, which allows young artists and educational operators to travel throughout Europe. This activity will be carried out in the museums involved in the project and will pay attention to the independence of each institution. The project shall support young artists and allow them to meet a public of children and teenagers. The project shall spread the idea that it is possible to educate children and teenagers through art, in particular contemporary art. Each museum chooses the young artist with a significant curriculum in order to carry out “The Artist’s house”. Each “Artist’s house” will introduce the artist: reproductions of his/her most significant works of art, images of his/her studio, work’s tools, a video their memory and personal effects, a selection of the cultural landmarks and suggestions that affect their poetic. The “Artist’s houses” will be not just physically built but also published on the web site www.didart.net Starting from March 2005, each co-ordinating museum will host the “House” made by foreign museum. Every museum shell organize independent educational activities for its public during presence of the “House”. In September 2005 all the houses will be sent to Regio Emilia for a final exhibition. A general catalogue will be published to document the educational experience. Students of Academia di Belle arte in Bologna and Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona will involve schools of the region in a detailed evaluation of the website www.didart.net and its new content concerning the “Houses”. The web site is meant to be the shop window of the project: interactive “Artists’ houses” will be available on line. All the users can follow the development of the project over the various geographical stages.
